Worship
At Parrish United Methodist Church
Join us on Sunday morning's for worship in our sanctuary.
See below for a detailed description of each service.
Traditional Services at 8:00 AM & 9:30 AM in the Main Church Sanctuary.
Contemporary Service at 11:00 AM
We pray you will experience the Spirit of God as we worship Him through Music, song, Prayer, Preaching, Teaching and Personal Testimony. We often use elements of video, dance, and drama to help connect us with the Life-Changing Power of Jesus Christ.
We strive to give God as much room as He wants to reach our hearts. Our “Order of Worship” is often changed as God’s Spirit moves in our services. Our worship is designed to give God this freedom, and therefore, the flexibility of our hearts is reflected by the lack of a strict printed format. We invite you to join us as we worship God with both freedom and order.
“A time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.” John 4:23,24
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is,
there is freedom.”
2 Corinthians 3:17
“But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.” 1 Corinthians 14:40
Contemporary Service
at Parrish United Methodist Church
Nursery care is provided for all our Sunday morning services.
Our Contemporary Service is offered at 11:00 A.M. every Sunday morning in the Main Church Sanctuary. This service usually lasts until between 12:15 PM and 12:30 PM.
It is a service led by our Praise Band characterized by a more progressive music style and informal atmosphere.
We begin with an extended period of worship through music, songs, and prayer. As we progress we will incorporate other creative elements including, but not limited to, drama, video, liturgical dance, etc. (Psalm 150)
We celebrate a time of offering during the service in which we give to the Lord our treasure. This is a symbolic and practical act of giving our hearts to Jesus. Jesus said, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21)
Our Pastor, David Misener then opens the Scriptures with down-to-earth Bible teaching that applies to your life today.
Feel free to come as you are. As far as dress, people wear anything from shorts, t-shirts and flip-flops to dresses, suits and ties. As far as state of mind and heart, God takes us as we are, with our doubts and faith, hopes and fears, our successes and failures. If you would like to worship alongside others who are seeking to follow Jesus, or if you just want to explore what Jesus might mean to you, please join us.
Enter God’s presence in a fresh way. Come as you are.
Be Encouraged. Be Challenged. Be Changed!
